{"id":427,"date":"2009-01-31T23:29:11","date_gmt":"2009-02-01T04:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/emotionalhealth.us\/blog\/?p=427"},"modified":"2023-11-24T00:11:28","modified_gmt":"2023-11-24T05:11:28","slug":"emotionally-healthy-families","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emotionalhealth.us\/blog\/emotionally-healthy-families\/","title":{"rendered":"Emotionally Healthy Families"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On November 16, we shared in this blog efforts to make Salinas, California an &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/emotionalhealth.us\/blog\/?s=Newmark\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">emotional-health-friendly city<\/a>.&#8221; We&#8217;re now happy to provide an update.<\/p>\n<p>The Salinas Adult School held its annual Parent University program on Saturday, January 31.\u00a0 The focus of this year&#8217;s Parent University: <em>raising emotionally healthy families<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Through more than 50 workshops, parents learned skills to address problem solving, stress reduction, conflict resolution and healthy communication with their children.<\/p>\n<p>In advance of the event, Kathy Bauer, a parent educator at the school, said, &#8220;Parenting is the most challenging job, and parents need support these days to get new ideas, get resources, to get support&#8230; I think that&#8217;s the whole intent these days, <em>to get more emotional stability in these troubling times<\/em>&#8230; I think parents will have fun.
